EU energy efficiency: 5 steps to turn policies into action on the ground!

EU energy efficiency policies must be turned into action on the ground: in the Member States, in cities and in people’s lives and businesses.

The just-published Coalition for Energy Savings’ report outlines five essential steps to help achieve this.

1. Set a meaningful direction with national energy efficiency targets
2. Provide a clear plan for energy efficiency measures
3. Put in place good infrastructure planning for supporting the transition
4. Close the energy savings investment gap
5. Consult stakeholders about investments that matter

The publication also presents a table with the key dates for energy efficiency implementation with the critical milestones until 01/01/2025.

The Coalition for Energy Savings strives to make energy efficiency and savings the first consideration of energy policies and the driving force towards a secure, sustainable and competitive European Union.
Its membership unites businesses, professionals, local authorities, trade unions, cooperatives, consumer and civil society organisations in pursuit of this goal.
The Coalition calls on the EU to commit itself to a 40% energy saving target by 2030 and to step up policies, measures and investments to stop energy waste and tap the considerable energy savings potentials.
