In 2016, the employment industry generated €491 billion in revenue worldwide, mostly driven by agency work accounting for € 350 billion.
Agency work is growing in many markets in Europe with the Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and Spain all experiencing significant growth compared to the previous year and compensating for a slowdown in the UK.
Japan continues to experience accelerating growth in agency work (8% compared to 7% the year before) while growth in the US, the largest agency work market, remains stable.
The direct recruitment market rose slightly to € 37.8 billion, confirming its trend towards a more profitable and faster-growing HR service.

Published annually, the World Employment Confederation (WEC) Economic Report aims at giving a comprehensive picture of the employment industry and labour market trends in general.
It shows how the members of the World Employment Confederation act as labour market enablers, playing a key role in delivering work, adaptation, security and prosperity to societies.

The 2018 online edition of the World Employment Confederation’s Economic Report compiles robust facts and figures about the employment industry.

The Communication Agency, Page in extremis is proud to have contributed to the creative development and the graphical production of the online report. The result is a comprehensive digital publication made within an intimate creative dialogue framework involving the Belgian communication agency’s creative team, and the World Employment Confederation.

Page in extremis has defined a very accurate process including monitoring and quality check particularly suited to provide maximum comfort to its clients and the best results.

Join us at the 2018 ASECAP Days in Ljubljana!

The 46th ASECAP Study & Information Days will focus on the new EU road mobility package and the role of infrastructure investments therein.

As part of the road mobility package, two legislative proposals will be at the centre stage of the discussions during the ASECAP Days in Ljubljana, namely:

- the proposal for a Directive on the interoperability of electronic road toll systems and facilitating cross-border exchange of information on the failure to pay road fees in the Union (the “EETS” Directive);

- the proposal for a Directive amending Directive 1999/62/EC on the charging of heavy goods vehicles for the use of certain infrastructure (the so-called “Eurovignette” Directive).

The 2018 ASECAP Days will, therefore, look at how toll the infrastructure investments made by the toll motorway operators respond to the new EU legislative package and what remains to be done to meet and, in particular, finance the mobility challenges.

You will find the two-day conference programme on the event website.

The ASECAP Days website, the Reets and the EETS web platforms are all developed by ASECAP in close collaboration with the communication agency, Page in extremis.

Discover UNEP in EUROPE 2017 Year in review!

The year 2017 in review gives you a flavour of what the UN Environment Programme is doing in the pan-European region. This online publication invites you on a white journey through 12 initiatives UN Environment ran this year in Europe.

UNEP hopes that some of their latest success stories will trigger your desire to work together with them for a more sustainable Europe.

2017, said Jan Dusik,  Director, Europe Office, UN Environment “was the year of the third UN Environment Assembly, but also the Year of Ecology in Russia. We have stood side-by-side with citizens to protect our environment, including through securing millions of individual pledges to beat pollution, and re-connected people to nature through World Environment Day. Our engagement in Central Asia has reached a historic high, thanks to a number of new projects and our participation in the Sustainable Energy EXPO in Astana. We have also aimed to make an impact on the ground, be it through training Ukrainian journalists on green economy, rolling our sleeves up to help collect waste in the Russian Arctic, or by reducing air pollution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We have continued to push for the environment to be a high priority at the political level, for example by supporting the G7 environment ministers’ meeting, hosting the 5th conference of the parties of the Carpathian Convention and by taking part in numerous high-level meetings on the Arctic”.

The online publication is the result of a collaboration between the communication team of UNEP in Europe and the communication agency, Page in extremis.

Based in Brussels, Page in extremis is a communication agency that makes brands conversational. We help organisations manage their communities, engage with their stakeholders and convey their messages through innovative digital tools.

How to organise your narration within an animation? Storyboarding is essential before developing an animation.

A storyboard works like the blueprint of the architect. During the storyboarding phase, you can identify most errors related to the narration, media, and other relevant details.

Storyboarding is crucial for four mains  reasons:

1) The storyboard allows checking if the concept works.  The storyboard determines the direction the animation is going to take.

2) While creating the storyboard, you can write and test impactful punch lines and dialogues.

3) Will the action work? Storyboards contain notes that give a whole idea of how the animation would flow in its entirety.

4) For complex animations, to avoid over budget, it is better to have an approved storyboard before entering the production phase of the project.

Page in extremis has developed numerous animation for several European institutions and organisations such as the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER).

CER’s role is to represent the interests of its members on the EU policy-making scene, in particular, to support an improved business and regulatory environment for European railway operators and railway infrastructure companies.

CER has selected the communication agency, Page in extremis, as a partner for ensuring an active alignment between the messages developed by the Association and their visual expressions.

The 2014-2016 WIM implementation report is fully digital

From the very beginning in 2008, the Wine in Moderation programme has aimed to make a measurable contribution to the way people approach to wine, and to reducing the abuse of alcohol.

The progress made has been recognised and referenced as good practice by national, European and international authorities, but with success comes responsibility.

Wine in Moderation programme continues to gain momentum and has been established as the reference in Sustainability and Social Responsibility within the worldwide wine business.

The WiM Association executes the reporting exercise annually through an online survey tool, tracking the commitment performance based on specific KPIs. Responses are assessed, and interviews are organised in case of doubts. Restrictions/limitations do apply in such a wide reporting exercise in a fragmented agricultural (wine) sector.

The WiM Association has selected the communication agency, Page in extremis, as a strategic partner for developing the report and ensuring a stronger alignment between the messages conveyed by the Association and their visual expressions.

Located in Brussels, Page in extremis is a strategic communication agency, involving an experimented multidisciplinary team, building brands and strengthening reputations for leading corporations, institutions and European associations.

A dynamic and digital logo for the SERA conferences and Convention!

SERA Regional Conferences and Convention is a joint initiative of the European Commission and the European Union Agency for Railways in collaboration with Ministries for Transport, National Safety Authorities, and Industry Associations.

The technical pillar of the 4th Railway Package introduces one single process for cross-border vehicle authorisation in Europe.

Market participants in Europe demanded to learn about the advantages of this new regime before to lend it their support – as one of the key challenges for this process is the transposition of European legislation into national law, which will have to be ended by 2019/2020.

In July 2017, the implementing acts that lay the foundation for these European processes needed to be voted by the EU Member States in the Railway Interoperability and Safety Committee (RISC).

In and get a full-hearted buy-in of national decision makers for the new European processes, it was necessary to engage in an open an intense debate and put forward clear information about these new processes.

From April to June 2017, the European Commission and the European Union Agency for Railways had therefore launched a series of regional debates, where stakeholders can voice their opinions and doubts in their native language, and get a clear idea of the benefits of the new process.

The communication agency, Page in extremis was designated to develop a visual identity for the European initiative.

Five conferences took place, each organised in distinct EU regions:
- SERA Regional Conference East Mediterranean in Budapest
- SERA Regional Conference Baltic Nordic in Helsinki
- SERA Regional Conference West Mediterranean in Valletta
- SERA Regional Conference Central in Berlin
- SERA Regional Conference North Sea in Amsterdam

The final insights were debated in Brussels at the SERA Convention.
An iterative logo was conceived by page in extremis to express the informative step-by-step process visually:
